Quantitative research counts or measures in order to answer a research question (Gray, Grove & Sutherland, 2018). Easily, quantitative research uses numerical data and that can be presented to readers numerical results of a question. The results of quantitative research provide better understanding of one or more of the following three aspects of reality: incidence, connections between two ideas, and cause-and-effect relationships (Gray, Grove & Sutherland, 2018). The purpose of quantitative research is advance hypotheses using scientific method. Quantitative research uses various surveys and interviews before the study begin using online, paper, mobile, telephone, face to face interviews and so on. For example, let’s say you have a option to choose between a FNP and a MD in a clinic. 20% of patients wants to see a FNP with some reasons.

Qualitative research is a scholarly approach used to describe life experiences, cultures, and social processes from the perspectives of the persons involved (Gray, Grove & Sutherland, 2018). For example, qualitative method is that you have a option to choose between a FNP and a MD in a clinic.. Most of patient feel comfortable to see MD first. The method is used to understand of underlying opinions, reasons, and motivations.

In Ok and I are going to perform a scholarly project on Improving medication reconciliation accuracy using teach back method in Korean clinical setting. We discussed that it is important FNP ensure patients understand medication information and direction they have been received from a provider. Teach back method will be used to make sure a patient state back to a provider in his/her own words about prescribing medications. We discussed teach back will improve patient understanding, decrease errors, decrease call backs, improve patients’ outcome. First, we will evaluate each patient medication reconciliation through phone or face to face interview. Then, we will educate patients clearly and use teach back method to state back in own words. Last, we will evaluate the patients’ medication reconciliation accuracy. We may use quantitative method to present the results before and after clear education for medication reconciliation accuracy. We will encourage to use Orlando’s deliberative nursing process theory. Her deliberative nursing process theory focuses on the interaction between the nurse and patient, perception validation, and the use of the nursing process to produce positive outcomes or patient improvement (Faust, 2002).
