Question Description

Overview

Thinking for a Change (T4C) is a cognitive-behavioral programsponsored by the National Institute of Corrections (NIC). T4C isdesigned to teach offenders to recognize antisocial thoughts andbehaviors and replace those with prosocial thoughts and behaviors. Theprogram is conducted by trained corrections professionals in prisons,jails, detention centers, community corrections, probation, and parolesettings. There are over 10,000 T4C group facilitators and more than500 trainers are certified to train additional staff to facilitate theprogram.

Review the Riverbend City: Group Therapy in Prison simulation(linked in Resources) and focus on the Group Therapy Session: Thinkingfor a Change tab. Based on the session you viewed, choose an offenderand address the following in a 4–5 page paper:

Identify correction techniques used to encourage rational thinking.
